ABOUT FINANCIAL HORIZONS & OUR PARTNERS

Founded by Angelos Giannopoulos in 2023, Financial Horizons is a nonprofit transforming the lives of refugees across Greece by equipping them with vital financial literacy and job skills. With a mission rooted in empowerment and community building, Financial Horizons combines innovative, game-based learning with practical training to foster independence and self-sufficiency among displaced individuals.

Since its inception, Financial Horizons has raised over €170,000 and mobilized more than 500 dedicated volunteers, reaching over 14 refugee camps nationwide. In close collaboration with respected organizations and with curriculum approval from the Hellenic Ministry of Education, Financial Horizons offers an officially endorsed syllabus—ensuring refugees can access quality, impactful education that paves the way for long-term stability.

 

In 2025, Financial Horizons partnered with the Hellenic Ministry of Education to co-develop a national financial literacy curriculum, set to be integrated into all Greek high schools by 2027—a transformative step toward embedding financial empowerment in the national educational system.

 

Through strategic support, Financial Horizons secured €47,000 in funding from United Nations donations, enabling the expansion of financial education programs to over 4,000 refugees across Greece.

 

Additionally, Financial Horizons initiated a partnership with the UBS Optimus Foundation in Zurich, strengthening its international collaboration efforts and expanding its capacity to scale evidence-based financial education across vulnerable communities.

 

With each workshop, Financial Horizons moves closer to a future where refugees and youth alike are equipped to rebuild their lives with clarity and confidence. This journey of empowerment is powered by community support, strategic partnerships, and an unwavering belief in a more equitable future for all.
